"Avoid at All Costs! Roofstock, Great Jones, and Streetlane Homes are Just Thieves!"
I rented a place through Great Jones, which is part of Roofstock. They switched their name halfway through my lease, which was confusing. During my stay, I had a tough time getting them to deal with a really old, rotting tree just 10 feet from the house. I see these landlords as nothing but slumlords and thieves, and their 'AS IS' policy puts tenants in risky situations without a care in the world. That tree has been a danger to me, my pet, my stuff, and even my car for a whole year, and I’m beyond furious!
To top it off, they left me without heat in a house that dropped to 40 degrees for an entire week over Christmas. When they finally sent someone to fix it, the service guy was downright rude in my home. I’ve put in at least twelve maintenance requests, but they’ve canceled nearly all of them without even giving me a heads-up.
I didn’t get the value I thought I would from this place because they didn’t keep it in a safe and healthy state. There’s no outdoor water source, so the yard just dies and gets overrun with mites, fleas, and ants. They promised I wouldn’t be on the hook for the dead lawn, but that was the end of their help. I couldn’t even get proper pest control, and they didn’t care at all!
I think I deserve some of my rent back for living in conditions that didn’t meet what we agreed on. The house was crawling with spiders, and I had to shell out hundreds to get rid of them. When I moved in, the yard was a mess with years of leaves and junk, and they wouldn’t handle the initial lawn care. That cost me a pretty penny too. The seed and feed I bought went to waste since there was no water available. Plus, the attic had no insulation, which made my heating and cooling bills skyrocket for months. That’s a clear violation of building codes, and they’ve ignored electrical code violations by canceling my maintenance requests. This house shouldn’t be rented out again until the owner gets it up to code! I’ve been living in constant danger, and it’s wrecked my budget!
"Decent service, but a bit expensive."
The service is decent, though it does come with a hefty price tag. You can find other options out there that provide better support.

"Service experience was downright awful."
The service offered at this place is just plain awful. It's super frustrating that nobody picks up the phone, making customers feel really stressed out. On top of that, the support team is never available, which is a huge letdown. It's honestly disheartening that the agent won't reply to any questions.

"An Outstanding Platform for Real Estate Investment"
Roofstock stands out as a solid choice for real estate investing, though it might not suit everyone. If you've got enough funds or can get your hands on some, Roofstock has a great selection of vetted properties that can yield a decent return. That said, first-timers might stumble over a few things, and there are a couple of annoying features that could raise eyebrows, like needing to register before checking out the properties on offer. Still, in the end, Roofstock really does provide a top-notch platform for those looking to invest.
